Mammoth Mining is a sole trading name for Peter Taylor.

It commenced trading in September 2013. Peter Taylor is a well-qualified and accomplished company director, consultant and contractor with BSc (Hons) in Mining Engineering from the Camborne School of Mines, MBA from Cranfield University and is an ATPL qualified commercial pilot.  

He commenced his mining career with De Beers in South Africa before moving to the UK Channel Tunnel and Southeast Asia for Balfour Beatty on international heavy infrastructure projects. This included the Pergau hydro-electric project in Malaysia and Hong Kong’s Chep Lap Kok Airport passenger terminal. He flew as a Boeing B737 Captain for the bmi Group before being appointed Chief Operating Officer of African Aura Mining which became Afferro Mining and was successfully sold for US$200million in 2013.  

Mammoth Mining commenced trading in 2013 to offer consulting, contracting and interim executive services to the exploration, mining, aviation, environmental, CSR and ethical trading sectors. Peter was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Alien Metals in February 2019, a position he has subsequently resigned.

Peter has a diverse range of experience working at director level for public listed and private companies. He believes that the proper application of best business practice, integrity and ethics is fundamental to creating value. As well as possessing a sound technical knowledge of the business domains in which he operates, Peter has practical hands-on experience, embracing the stakeholders critical for success.  

Peter is forward thinking, seeing opportunities in emerging markets such as Myanmar and cutting edge commodities. He speaks a number of languages and is currently studying in his spare time for an MA at the School of African and Oriental Studies in London.
